Restarting The Midi Translator PC WDM Demo Driver

If you are evaluating the Midi Translator PC WDM driver using the demo version of the driver you will notice that the driver stops functioning after ten minutes. To avoid having to reboot every time after ten minutes you can also restart the driver to get it working again. To do this follow the next steps.


Note that in order for this procedure to work, you must close any application that is using the Midi Translator Demo Driver.

Step 1

Right click on the 'My Computer' icon in the upper left corner. From the popup menu select the option 'Properties'.

A dialog with the title 'System Properties' appears. Click on the tabpage 'Hardware'. On the tabpage click on the button 'Device Manager'.

The 'Device Manager' dialog appears. You will see a list of all installed hardware. Scroll to the category 'Sound, video and game controllers' and click on the plus sign before it. A list of all devices in this category appears. Right click on the item 'Translator PC WDM Demo Version'. A little submenu appears where you can select the option 'Disable'.

Step 4

A dialog comes up asking you whether you really want to disable this device. Click on 'Yes'.

The system will be busy for a short while disabling the device. After a screen refresh you will see the same device list but the device 'Translator PC WDM Demo Version' will have a little red cross through its icon. Right click on the device again. Now you can select the option 'Enable'. The device will be started again and you can use it for another ten minutes.
